Who are we?
With over 35 years of experience as a real estate appraiser, I have discovered a new passion for wine. My journey into the world of wine began with online courses from the Wine School of Philadelphia and a growing interest in wine podcasts. I noticed most wine podcasts cater to professionals and focus on expensive wines. This inspired me to create a space for everyday wine enthusiasts who want to explore wines through blind tastings.
My wife Denise, my partner of over 41 years, and I did our first blind tasting in college with cheap beers, and we’ve been on this delightful journey ever since. I know, Dennis and Denise, we have some stories and will share them on the show.

What is the show about?
The show is meant to be fun and educational. Hopefully, you will listen and either laugh or at least get a bad dad joke grin, and then a couple of minutes later think “I didn’t know that”. We will blind-taste three wines from different affordable price ranges. The typical price range for our wines will be less than $12, $12 to $22, and $22 to $35. These price ranges will vary slightly based on the variety and wines being tasted.
We will score each wine based on a one through five rating system. The scoring is described as:
- Not good and won’t finish the glass.
- Will drink but won’t buy again.
- OK wine, may buy again depending on price.
- Very good, purchase more and share with friends.
- Exception wine – special occasions and secret stash. One to stock up on.
